Penn Highlands Healthcare Announces Recent Awards and Accreditations

Penn Highlands Healthcare is pleased to announce recent awards and accreditations at three of its hospitals.

Penn Highlands Clearfield

Penn Highlands Clearfield earned the 2023 Hospital and Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania (HAP) Excellence in Patient Safety Award. PH Clearfield was one of only 29 hospitals honored this year for demonstrating low rates of healthcare-associated infections. Penn Highlands Clearfield also recently announced that they earned two American College of Radiology (ACR) accreditations including PET for 2022-2025 and Nuclear Medicine for 2023-2026.

Penn Highlands DuBois

Corazon, Inc., a national leader in services for the cardiovascular specialty, has granted accreditation to the Cath/PCI and Open-Heart Surgical (OHS) Program at Penn Highlands DuBois. Through a rigorous process, the accreditation proves that the program at PH DuBois has once again met or exceeded Corazon’s Accreditation Standards, national societal guidelines and the requirements established by the Pennsylvania Department of Health. Also during this quarter, PH DuBois earned ACR accreditation as a Comprehensive Breast Imaging Center. By awarding facilities this status, ACR recognizes breast imaging centers that have earned accreditation in mammography, stereotactic breast biopsy and breast ultrasound (including ultrasound-guided breast biopsy). In addition, Penn Highlands DuBois announced that they earned the 2022-2025 ACR accreditation for Nuclear Medicine.

Penn Highlands Elk

The Medical Imaging Department at Penn Highlands Elk announced ACR accreditations including MRI for 2021-2024; Breast MRI for 2021-2024; Ultrasound for 2021-2024; and PET for 2021-2024; as well as CT for 2023-2026. ACR accreditation helps assure patients that imaging facilities provide the highest level of image quality and safety by documenting that the facilities meet requirements for equipment, medical personnel and quality assurance.
