Penn Highlands Brookville Imaging Services is open 24/7 and utilizes digital imaging equipment to take internal pictures of your body to determine the location and nature of an injury or illness. Diagnostic Imaging procedures may also be used throughout a treatment program to measure the effectiveness of the patient’s medical treatment. Typically, these procedures are used as part of the treatment plan from oncology, pulmonary, trauma, and muscular-skeletal (orthopedic) specialists.

Licensing & Accreditation
The Diagnostic Imaging facility complies with all requirements of the American College of Radiology, the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, and the Food and Drug Administration. The following areas of the Diagnostic Imaging Department are accredited by the ACR:
- Nuclear medicine
All technologists are registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologies (ARRT). Many carry a specialty-level credentialing in in CT, nuclear medicine, and mammography. Ultrasound technologists are registered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS). Nuclear Medicine technologists are registered by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB). To maintain licensure, every technologist must meet continuing education requirements set by the ARRT, ARDMS and NMTCB.
