Donation of Blankets Made in Memory to NICU

Twenty-four years ago in August, Sharon Gelnette of Brookville, also a Penn Highlands DuBois Pharmacy employee, had a son, Jacob Lynn, in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. He had Trisomy 13 and lived just a week over three months. Sharon made a donation of blankets to the unit on Nov. 27, the anniversary of his burial, in Jacob’s memory.

The blankets were made and donated by an online crochet group known as PAFMarcy - Preemie Angels For Marcy, a Yahoo group. It is made up of ladies from several states in the USA, including Alaska, and a woman from Australia. “We crochet, knit or sew blankets, hats and other items to donate to NICU units in areas where we all live,” Sharon said.
