Dr. Frank Bizousky Is Now A Diplomate of the American Board of Family Practice

Penn Highlands Healthcare is pleased to announce that Dr. Frank Bizousky is now a Diplomate of the American Board of Family Practice.

As a diplomate, Bizousky has successfully completed requirements to maintain board-certification for the next ten years.

With an office located at 104 W. Mahoning St., Suite 205, Bizousky has practiced in Punxsutawney since 1995. He also is a supervising, or precepting, doctor for the Family Medicine Residents of Penn Highlands Healthcare.

“I consider myself blessed to have the opportunity to take care of patients that my father saw,” Dr. Bizousky said. He is looking forward to a long career in Punxsutawney and added, “I really enjoy the opportunity to also teach the Family Medicine residents and make an impact on their lives.”

Bizousky attended the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Va. and he received bachelor’s degrees in biology and pre-medicine. He received his medical degree from Nova Southeastern University, College of Osteopathic Medicine, in Davie, Fla. He completed an osteopathic medicine internship and a family practice residency at Altoona Hospital in Altoona. During that time he also gained over 1,000 hours of emergency department experience working at Altoona, Clearfield and Bedford hospitals. He has also worked in emergency departments in Punxsutawney, Coudersport, Brookville and Hastings during his career.

He is a member of the American Medical Association, American Osteopathic Association and the American Academy of Family Physicians. He is also a member of the Pennsylvania Medical Society and the Pennsylvania Osteopathic Medical Association. Locally, he is a member of the Jefferson County Medical Association.
