Local Student Donates Blankets for Patients

A senior at Ridgway High School, Miranda Halpin made blankets for patients spending Thanksgiving at Penn Highlands Elk. She sought donations from area churches and individuals to purchase the fabric, and then she assembled a group of classmates to help make the blankets. Miranda had received a blanket three years ago, when she had to stay in the hospital, and it left a lasting impression. She also enlisted elementary students to make cards and placemats to hand out with the blankets.
