Penn Highlands Healthcare/KTH Architects Golf Classic Raises $128,000

The Penn Highlands Healthcare/KTH Architects Golf Classic raised $128,000 to benefit projects at the system’s four hospitals.

There were72 teams participating in the June 23 event, which was held at four locations across the region: Clearfield-Curwensville Country Club, Clearfield; Leaning Pines Golf Course, St. Marys; and Pinecrest Country Club, Brookville; and Treasure Lake Silver Course, DuBois.

“This tournament is the largest fundraiser of the year for Penn Highlands Healthcare,” Donna Haney, Fund Development coordinator at Penn Highlands Healthcare, said. “As always, 100 percent of the proceeds of this tournament support patient care at each of the four hospitals.”

Each golfer and sponsor had the opportunity to choose where their donation is directed. Each hospital designated a project:

  • Penn Highlands Brookville for expansion of a primary care office;

  • Penn Highlands Clearfield for an automated chest compression unit;

  • Penn Highlands DuBois for infant hearing testing equipment and software;

  • Penn Highlands Elk for Emergency Department waiting room furniture.

“Each year, the generous contributions of our communities have helped make this event a huge success. This year, we had more than 140 individuals and businesses that supported our tournament with monetary and in-kind donations,” Haney said. “The committee would like to thank KTH Architects, PNC Bank and SEI Investments for being our major sponsors as well as all of the other generous businesses and individuals who support the tournament.”

Haney also thanked the following local businesses for providing the prizes for the Hole-In-One contests this year: Osburn Buick GMC at Pinecrest Country Club, Helmbold & Stewart Insurance at the Clearfield-Curwensville Country Club, St. Marys Chevrolet at the Leaning Pines Golf Course and Stoltz Family Dealerships at the Treasure Lake Silver Course.

First place team winners were SOS Group at Clearfield-Curwensville Country Club, Northwest Bank at Pinecrest Country Club, Gerg Allstate Insurance at Leaning Pines Golf Course and Chartwell Home Infusion Services at Treasure Lake Silver Course.
