Is Bariatric Surgery Right For You? Learn More at Penn Highlands Mon Valley

Hiram Gonzalez, MD, a general/gastrointestinal surgeon at Penn Highlands Mon Valley, will discuss “Is Bariatric Surgery Right for You?” during a free education session on Thursday, November 9, at 6:00 PM in the Anthony M. Lombardi Education Conference Center. The Conference Center is located on the campus of Penn Highlands Mon Valley —1163 Country Club Road, Monongahela, Pa.

Dr. Gonzalez will discuss the Hospital’s Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Program with emphasis on obesity, medical weight management and potential treatment options — including bariatric surgery. Surgery is a weight reduction option for people struggling to lose 100 pounds or more.

“The surgery can literally be a life saver,” reports Dr. Gonzalez. “Some of the people who have had bariatric surgery at Penn Highlands Mon Valley have lowered their blood pressure, eliminated the need for their diabetes medications and overall improved their quality of life.”

The information session is open to anyone that wants to learn about obesity and bariatric surgery. For those unable to attend in person, the session will also be offered virtually. A Zoom link will be provided to those who register.

Parking is free.
