J. Ryan Rice, MD, FACS
J. Ryan Rice, MD, FACS, plastic surgeon in DuBois, PA has experience in all aspects of surgical and non-invasive cosmetic and reconstructive treatments. Surgical options include Breast Reconstruction, Hand Surgery, Craniofacial Reconstruction, Microsurgery and General Reconstruction. Dr. Rice's cosmetic expertise includes breast surgery, rhinoplasty, face lift, facial rejuvenation, fillers, liposuction, abdominoplasty, laser skin treatments and basic skin care.
Dr. J. Ryan Rice earned his medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia. He is a board certified general surgeon, completing the general surgery residency program at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. He went on to complete a plastic surgery residency at Lahey Clinic in Burlington, Mass.
Training included seven months of rotations through the Harvard system's Brigham and Woman's Hospital and Boston Children's Hospital, as well as 10 months as Chief Resident at Maine Medical Center, with Plastic and Hand Surgical Associates. He has also been very active in medical missions, taking three trips to Vietnam as first assistant to fellows and attending plastic surgeons from the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minn. He has also spent much time learning from his father, respected oral surgeon Dr. Jeff Rice, as an assistant in both the office and operating room helping perform various orthognathic, reconstructive, trauma and aesthetic procedures.
Josie Cartwright, MSN, CRNP, FNP-BC
Josie Cartwright, board certified Family Nurse Practitioner, sees patients alongside Dr. Ryan Rice at Penn Highlands Plastic, Reconstructive and Cosmetic Surgery. She provides non-invasive cosmetic treatments, including laser skin treatments and injectables, as well as evaluation and management of hand conditions such as carpal tunnel syndrome and Dupuytren’s contracture. She assists Dr. Rice in the Operating Room with all of his surgical procedures.
