A Winter’s Eve – A Winter’s Success

Mrs. Claus

December 6, 2025 was a perfect Winter's Eve in DuBois! On that evening, more than 250 Penn Highlands Healthcare employees and their guests as well as members of the community attended "A Winter's Eve Celebration" hosted by the Penn Highlands DuBois Medical Staff. The event raised approximately $50,000 for women's cancer care in conjunction with the health system's Annual Giving Appeal.

Those in attendance listened to speakers including Will Chinn, President of Penn Highlands DuBois and Penn Highlands Clearfield; Kelley Smith, DO, FACOS, a board-certified general surgeon who specializes in women's health at Penn Highlands General Surgery; Lindsey Herzing, System Fund Development Manager for Penn Highlands Healthcare; and Melissa Wayne, a local breast cancer survivor featured in the Annual Giving Appeal. Guests also enjoyed hors d'oeuvres, fundraising games and dancing to the music played by the Houserockers DJ.

The prize for the most festive outfit of the evening was awarded to Hilary Laney, a Financial Counselor for Penn Highlands Healthcare, who was dressed as Mrs. Claus.

The Fund Development Department wishes to thank all who attended the event with a special note of gratitude to the sponsors -- the Penn Highlands DuBois Medical Staff, the event’s signature sponsor; and IMBRO Diagnostic Partners, the event’s Diamond sponsor.

There's still time to donate to the Annual Campaign for your area. Visit giving.phhealthcare.org/giving.

In addition, be sure to save the date for the 2026 event – Saturday, December 5, 2026, at the DuBois Country Club.
