Early Detection to Advanced Treatment for All Types of Cancer

Cancer Care

If you’ve been diagnosed with cancer, you probably have a million questions running through your head, starting with where you should go for cancer treatment. Whether you have breast cancer, colon cancer, skin cancer, prostate cancer, or some other type, rest assured that Penn Highlands Healthcare has the technology and expertise to offer the latest in cancer treatments. We offer cancer surgery, chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and radiation therapy without making you drive far from home.

Advanced Cancer Treatment

At Penn Highlands, our physicians have access to the latest tests — including blood tests, biopsy, mammography, breast MRI, colonoscopy, endoscopy, PET scans, CT scans, and ultrasound — to accurately diagnose and stage your cancer.

Once a cancer diagnosis is confirmed, you will meet with one of our medical oncologists, or cancer doctors, who will work with you to design a personalized cancer treatment plan that may include radiation, chemotherapy, immunotherapy, surgery, or some combination thereof.

We specialize in medical and radiation oncology, and we’ve made significant investments in these areas of cancer care. Most recently, we acquired a TrueBeam radiotherapy system from Varian Medical Systems. It uses new motion management technology to make it possible for us to treat tumors located in areas of the body affected by motion, such as breathing. We also offer stereotactic radiosurgery, an advanced form of radiation therapy that may be used in place of surgery to treat brain tumors.

Our medical oncologists offer the latest in drug therapy as well. In addition to chemotherapy, we also offer immunotherapy for the treatment of advanced cancers or those who do not respond to other treatments.
