Penn Highlands Healthcare At Home Hosts Butterfly Release To Celebrate Lives Remembered

Penn Highlands Healthcare at Home once again will host its annual Butterfly Release, a special evening of remembrance, reflection and hope for families who have experienced the loss of a loved one.

Set in the Serenity Garden at Penn Highlands Healthcare at Home, located at 757 Johnsonburg Road in St. Marys, the event provides an opportunity for participants to celebrate cherished memories while witnessing the symbolic release of butterflies, representing transformation, renewal and the enduring connection between those we love and those we remember.

The Butterfly Release will take place on Friday, July 31, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM.

The uplifting event begins at 6:00 PM followed by the butterfly release at 6:30 PM and refreshments at 6:45 PM. The program will include music, reflection, prayer and the butterfly release in celebration of lives well lived. The event will be held rain or shine; however, in case of inclement weather, the butterflies will be released when conditions are safe for acclimation to their new surroundings.

The cost is $20 for each butterfly. All butterflies must be ordered by Monday, July 27, 2026.
