Penn Highlands WRC Senior Services Flag Raising Ceremony

On July 3, 2023, U.S. veterans and members of the community were on hand to witness local scouts raise the new flag at Highland Oaks at Water Run Landing. The senior living community is part of Penn Highlands WRC Senior Services. The three-story facility is home to 60 older adults including 11 veterans.

The family of deceased Vietnam veteran Donald Stinebiser was the first to respond to a community-wide request by the facility's leadership for a flag and pole. The initiation ceremony and permanent placement of the flag pole honor the veterans who call Highland Oaks at Water Run Landing home; is a tribute to the facility’s employees who have served our country; and is displayed as a source of pride and unity for the community.

State Representative Donna Oberlander attended the ceremony and is shown with Kurt D. Nesbitt, Director of Personal Care/Independent Living/Affordable Housing at Highland Oaks at Water Run Landing.
