Welcome Amy I. Whitsel, MD, MPH, FACOG

Penn Highlands Healthcare welcomes board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist Amy I. Whitsel, MD, MPH, FACOG, to its medical staff.

Dr. Whitsel joins the team at Penn Highlands Perinatal Consultants, located at 123 Hospital Avenue in DuBois.

She is a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist specializing in perinatology. As a maternal-fetal medicine fellow, Dr. Whitsel provides highly experienced, perinatal care to expectant mothers and fetuses experiencing complications. Perinatology, also known as maternal-fetal medicine, is a subspecialty of obstetrics that focuses on the care of the fetus and the management of complicated, high-risk pregnancies.

Dr. Whitsel is a graduate of Vanderbilt University Medical School, in Nashville, TN. She completed her internship and residency in obstetrics and gynecology at University of Pennsylvania Medical Center in Philadelphia, and her fellowship at University of Vermont in Burlington, VT.

She is board-certified in maternal-fetal medicine by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and a diplomat of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Whitsel is a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and a member of the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the American Public Health Association, the State of Pennsylvania Maternal Morbidity and Mortality, and the Allegheny County Fetal and Infant Mortality Committee.
