Welcome Giath Osman, MD, FACS, FRCSI, CABS
Penn Highlands Healthcare welcomes Giath Osman, MD, FACS, FRCSI, CABS, to its medical staff.
Dr. Osman joins the teams at Penn Highlands Gastroenterology, located at 239 Colonnade Boulevard, Second Floor, in State College; and 221 Hospital Drive, Suite 3, in Tyrone.
Dr. Osman has more than two decades of experience. In addition to being board-certified, Dr. Osman is a fellowship-trained specialist in gastroenterology and advanced laparoscopic, bariatric surgery and advanced endoscopy. He is also certified in the da Vinci Surgical System.
Dr. Osman is a graduate of Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland, in Dublin, Ireland. He completed both his internship and residency in general surgery at Oregon Health & Science University, in Portland, OR. He also completed a fellowship in gastroenterology, and general surgery at Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland, in Dublin, Ireland; and a fellowship in advanced laparoscopic, bariatric surgery and advanced endoscopy at Inova Fairfax Hospital, Inova Health System, in Fairfax, VA.
He is board certified by the American Board of Vascular Surgery, and the American Board of Surgery. Dr. Osman is a fellow of the International College of Surgeons; the Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland; and the American College of Surgeons. He is a member of the American College of Surgeons; the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons; the Society of Laparoscopic & Robotic Surgeons; and the Society for Surgery of the Alimentary Tract.
