Penn Highlands Healthcare welcomes Dr. Htar Su Hlaing, board-certified pediatrician, to its medical staff.

Dr. Hlaing joins the team at Penn Highlands Pediatrics, with locations at 865 Beaver Drive in DuBois and 551 West Mahoning Street in Punxsutawney.

Dr. Hlaing provides comprehensive, compassionate care to children and adolescents. She is also an avid hiker and traveler. Whether you’re looking for a same-day appointment for your sick child or want to schedule a routine back-to-school physical, Dr. Hlaing is here for you and your family.

Common treatments and procedures include aches and pains, such as earaches and stomachaches; asthma; allergies; colds and other respiratory viruses; fever; immunizations; minor injuries, like a cut that needs stitches; rashes; and well visits and annual school and sports physicals.

Prior to joining Penn Highlands, Dr. Hlaing practiced at JWCH Institute (Wesley Health Center) in Bellflower, Calif.; Flushing Endoscopy Center in Flushing, N.Y.; Saint Barnabas Ambulatory Care Clinic in The Bronx, N.Y.; private primary care in New York City, N.Y. and Yangon, Myanmar; Royale Medical Office in Savannalamar, Jamaica; Western Regional Health Authority in Savannalamar, Jamaica; South East Regional Health Authority in Kingston, Jamaica; and Spanish Town Hospital in Spanish Town, Jamaica. She was also an instructor at University of Medicine 2 in Yangon, Myanmar.

Dr. Hlaing graduated from University of Medicine 2 in Yangon, Myanmar. She completed her residency in pediatrics at Metropolitan Hospital Center, New York Medical College in New York, N.Y. She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, American Medical Association and Myanmar American Medical Education Society (New York).
