Welcome, Rodney Landreneau, MD

Penn Highlands Healthcare welcomes back board-certified thoracic surgeon Rodney Landreneau, MD, to its medical staff.

Landreneau joins the teams at Penn Highlands Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery, located at 145 Hospital Avenue, Suite 301, in DuBois.

Landreneau provides patients throughout the region with cutting-edge open and minimally invasive thoracic surgery procedures, as well as thoracic surgical oncology. Landreneau is highly experienced and provides exceptional care, even in the most complex of cases.

Landreneau’s extensive career in thoracic and oncology surgery has included directorships of prestigious esophageal and lung institutes throughout the United States. Prior to rejoining Penn Highlands, Landreneau was the division chief of general thoracic surgery and co-director of the Esophageal and Lung Institute at Allegheny Health Network in Pittsburgh. He has also served as the director of the Cancer Institute at Ochsner Health System in New Orleans, La., and as the head of the thoracic surgery section at the University of Pittsburgh.

Landreneau graduated from Louisiana State University, School of Medicine, in New Orleans, La. He completed a general surgery residency at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, Texas, and a thoracic surgery residency at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Mich.

He is a member of many professional organizations dedicated to the prevention and treatment of esophageal and lung disorders, including the American Society of Clinical Oncology, Society of Thoracic Surgeons, International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer and the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons. He is also a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the Pennsylvania Medical Society.
