Welcome, Syed Raza, MD

Penn Highlands Healthcare welcomes board-certified psychiatrist Syed Raza, MD, to its medical staff.

Raza joins the team at Behavioral Health Services, located at Penn Highlands DuBois, East Campus at 635 Maple Avenue in DuBois.

Raza provides behavioral and mental health care in a supportive, compassionate environment. Common treatments include detox for substance use; electroconvulsive therapy (ECT); medication management; mental health assessments and psychiatric evaluation; outpatient; group therapy; psychiatric evaluation; psychological assessment; psychotherapy, including cognitive behavioral therapy, individual therapy and family therapy; and suicide risk assessment and prevention.

Prior to joining Penn Highlands, Raza practiced at Providence VA Medical Center/ Brown University in Providence, R.I.; Thrive Behavioral Health in Providence, R.I.; Kent County Community Hospital in Warwick, R.I.; Community Mental Health Center in R.I.; Eleanor Slater State Hospital in Cranston, R.I.; University Correctional Health Care, UMDNJ, in Trenton, N.J.; and Community Health Clinic in Wash. He also served as assistant professor at The University of Massachusetts Medical School and Worcester Recovery Center and Hospital in Worcester, Mass.

Raza graduated from Dow Medical College in Karachi, Pakistan. He completed his residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He was a fellow at St. Louis University Hospital in Mo.
