The DuBois and Brookville primary care clinics have a flexible schedule, which allows for same-day appointments when you or your child have the flu, strep throat, an earache, or a minor injury. They are a great alternative to QCare or waiting and worrying overnight. At our two family medicine clinics, the primary care physicians also can see patients for routine checkups — including sports physicals for kids —and can help manage and monitor chronic conditions like asthma, diabetes, and high blood pressure in all ages of patients.

Because of our commitment to family medicine, Penn Highlands Healthcare is investing in the future of medicine. PHH offers a post-graduate family medicine residency program to ensure we have the talented physicians needed to meet the demands of rural healthcare in north central Pennsylvania.

The residents in our program are full physicians who are working one on one with PHH attending physicians to further their clinical education in a variety of specialties. While part of the graduate medical education (GME) program, the resident primary care physicians provide care for patients at the PHH Family Medicine Residency Clinic in DuBois and the Brookville Rural Health Center. What that means for you is you and your family members will be able to be seen sooner, and our family medicine physicians will take the time you need to answer your questions and provide in-depth care.
