Welcome, Sanjay Prasher, MD

Penn Highlands Healthcare welcomes board-certified cardio and electrophysiologist Sanjay Prasher, MD, to its medical staff.

Dr. Prasher joins the team at Penn Highlands Cardiology at 1290 Chess Street, Suite 101, Monongahela.

As a cardio and electrophysiologist, Dr. Prasher specializes in the study of the electrical activity of the heart to find where an arrhythmia, or abnormal heartbeat, is occurring. These results can help you and your physician decide whether you need medicine, a pacemaker, an implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD), a cardiac ablation procedure or surgery.

Common treatments and procedures include cardiac ablation, catheterization, implantable cardio defibrillator (ICD) and pacemakers.

Prior to joining Penn Highlands, Dr. Prasher was the director of the electrophysiology labs at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville, N.C.; Frye Regional Medical Center in Hickory, N.C.; and St. Francis Medical Center in Pittsburgh.

Dr. Prasher graduated from Calcutta National Medical College and Hospitals in Kolkata, India. He completed his residency in internal medicine at Long Island Jewish Medical Center in New Hyde Park, N.Y. He completed fellowships in cardiology at State University of New York, SUNY Downstate Program, in Brooklyn, N.Y., and in electrophysiology at St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital Center in New York City, N.Y.
