API Access

Beginning October 1, 2019, PHMV will allow patients to access their health information through an application programming interface (API). Depending on the application chosen, you may be able to access information such as your medications, allergies, or lab results. If you are interested in using an application other than the PHMV portal, please send an email to [email protected] including your contact information along with the name and website address of the API vendor. The particular application will be reviewed to verify the software meets the security and technical requirements needed to connect to our system.

FAQs

How do I enroll?

Visit any of our registration areas on the first floor of the main hospital or complete a registration form on your next visit to Penn Highlands Mon Valley. We will send you an email explaining how to register for the first time. Once you've accessed the Patient Portal from this email and chosen a new username and password, you can safely, privately, and securely explore the My Health Portal. After this initial log in, you only need to visit the Penn Highlands website and click on the "Penn Highlands Mon Valley Patient Portal Login" button and simply enter your username and password.

How does a secure Patient Portal work?

A secure Patient Portal is a webpage that uses industry standard encryption so secure information can only be read by someone who knows the correct username and password.

Where does my health information in the Patient Portal come from?

All of the information in the Patient Portal comes from your Penn Highlands Mon Valley Electronic Health Record. This ensures that you have access to the most accurate, up-to-date information possible about your PHMV visits. This portal differs from your primary care physicians' portals.

Can my family access my Portal?

You can give access to family members such as your parents, children, or health care proxies by visiting any Registration area at Penn Highlands Mon Valley.

Is my information safe?

Yes. The Patient Portal passwords are encrypted, and URLs are re-written so that they cannot be copied and pasted. Only you and those you designate can access your Patient Portal. Also, a timeout feature protects your information if you leave the portal page open.

What if I ever have technical problems with the Portal?

There is a Contact Us section on the homepage of the Patient Portal that allows you to submit any questions you have regarding the Portal. For assistance between 7:00 AM and 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday, please call 724-258-1744.

Minors

State Compliance for Minors
According to Pennsylvania state regulations, once your child turns 13, access to your child's account is deactivated. For children ages 13-17, parents may have proxy access if the minor patient signs an authorization form. Once the child turns 18, your access to their myMVHrecord account is deactivated. Your "adult" child can grant you proxy access through an authorization form in our Outpatient Registration.
