Apply for the Psychiatry Residency Program

All applicants for the Psychiatry Residency Program are required to complete an application form through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS).

Our program requires the following:

  • ERAS Application
  • Medical School Transcripts
  • Board Scores (Passing COMLEX/USMLE Step 1 and 2)
  • Personal Statement
  • 3 Letters of Recommendation

All of the above information must be received in order for a candidate to be considered before ranking opens.

Eligibility Criteria

Individuals eligible for appointment as a resident physician shall meet one of the following criteria:

  • Graduate of a College of Osteopathic Medicine in the United States accredited by the AOA/COCA within two (2) years from the current expected graduation cycle.
  • Graduate of medical school in the United States and Canada accredited by the LCME within two (2) years from the current expected graduation cycle.
  • Graduate of medical school outside of the United States or Canada within two (2) years from the current expected graduation cycle and meets one of the following additional qualifications:
    • Holds a currently-valid certificate from the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) prior to appointment, or
    • Holds a full and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a United States licensing jurisdiction in his or her current The Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) specialty/subspecialty program, or
    • Has graduated from a medical school outside the United States and has completed a Fifth pathway program provided by an LCME-accredited medical school, and
    • Has US clinical experience.

All first year residency positions must be offered through The MATCH National Residency Matching Program (NRMP). When the program does not fill through The MATCH, applicants may subsequently be appointed to unfilled positions from the pool of unmatched students, or other sources, as long as they meet institutional standards.
