Mohsen A. Isaac, MD

Dr. Isaac is the Medical Director of Radiation Oncology at PH Mon Valley and Clinical Assistant Professor at Temple University School of Medicine. He is one of the few physicians who utilizes an innovative technique to treat high-risk patients with early-stage, non-small cell lung cancer by implanting low-dose radioactive seeds permanently into the lungs.

In 2002, Dr. Isaac completed four years of residency training in radiation oncology at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, New York. In addition to serving as Chief Resident while in Syracuse, Dr. Isaac presented work at a national meeting, served as co-principal investigator for a phase III corporate sponsored trial, and published a chapter in a textbook of radiotherapy. He was also awarded the Compassionate Physician of the Year designation from Central New York Hospice.

Prior to his training in the United States, Dr. Isaac graduated with honors from Cairo University School of Medicine in 1993. He then completed his internship at Brookdale Hospital Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York.

Dr. Isaac has experience in prostate seed implantation, high-dose rate brachytherapy, three-dimensional conformal radiation therapy, intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), gamma knife stereotactic radiosurgery, and cranial and body stereotactic radiotherapy.

He has a strong interest in clinical research and multi-modality treatment of cancer.

Dr. Isaac is certified by the American Board of Radiology in Therapeutic Radiology and is a member of the American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology, the American College of Radiology, the American College of Radiation Oncology and the American Brachytherapy Society.
