External Beam Radiation Therapy (EBRT)
Radiation Oncology Helps Patients Fight Cancer
EBRT is External Beam Radiation Therapy. It is a common treatment that uses a direct bean of radiation from outside the body aimed at cancerous tissues inside the body. It is used to destroy cancerous cells and shrink tumors. EBRT includes a family of treatments, including 3D Conformal Radiation Therapy, IMRT, IGRT, TomoTherapy and Stereotactic Radiosurgery.
