Annual Giving Campaign at Penn Highlands

2024 Annual Giving Campaign

This year, we welcome your support as we launch the 2024 Penn Highlands Healthcare Annual Giving Campaign–Charity Care.

As a vital safety net for thousands of our neighbors, Penn Highlands Healthcare, through its Charity Care Program, has helped its patients rebound from setbacks during their health crises. Penn Highlands Healthcare extends financial assistance to patients so that their healthcare needs may be met.

Giving is not just about making a donation. It is about making a difference” – Kathy Calvin

The ending of a year marks a charitable time for many. Wouldn’t the gift of health for your neighbor be a meaningful and worthy contribution?

Every day, in every community, individuals and families face various hardships. While moving through life, one may encounter a health crisis, workplace issues, financial crisis, or the fear and stress of failure. With all of life’s struggles, affording healthcare should not be one of them ...but for many, it is.

Last year, more than 2,300 of our family, friends, and neighbors experienced this as a reality, throughout our Penn Highlands Healthcare servicing area. However, there is help for those who do not have the financial ability to pay for healthcare. Help that can ease an individual’s mind and allow them to seek out the necessary test or procedure for themselves, their child or spouse, to ensure they are living a healthy and fulfilling life. Help, so the worry of paying for healthcare is not added to other hardships they may be facing.

“As a physician, I advocate for people to seek the screenings and care that they need in order to stay healthy. The ability to pay should not factor into their decisions.

When each of us participates in the Penn Highlands Healthcare Annual Giving Campaign, we are helping to ensure that our health system can continue to provide financial assistance to those, who have healthcare needs and are uninsured, underinsured or unable to pay.”

“I have been in the hospital so many times with numerous medical issues and the bills just kept adding up. I am so thankful, that I was able to get assistance paying for my medical care, so that I can continue to be healthy.”
