Christopher Luckenbill named November Employee of the Month

Christopher Luckenbill, integration architect, IT Department, has been named Employee of the Month for November 2015 at Penn Highlands DuBois.

Christopher is responsible for integrating the data from the four hospitals of Penn Highlands Healthcare to ensure consistent medical records at all facilities. He is responsible for customizing the program for medical records to ensure patient safety. He also evaluates the impact of proposed changed across all the services.

He started at PH DuBois on Oct. 5, 2010 as a system analyst in the department at PH DuBois. He started in his current position on Nov. 7, 2014.

Christopher has his master’s in business administration from Penn State University. He is certified in Cerner Reporting and SAP Business Objects Reporting. He has had special training in Cerner Programming, Rules and Reporting; and financial interfaces. He received scholarships as a Penn State Honors Scholar for underground electrical engineering and for his MBA.

The most challenging and favorite part of his job is “troubleshooting,” he said. “Finding flaws in the systems, making programmatic, systematic, training and personnel recommendations for more efficient systems.” He enjoys “working collaboratively with other problems solvers in all departments and locations.”

“I am very grateful to work at Penn Highlands,” he added.

“Chris is an example of an employee who executes the core behaviors in the workplace daily,” Kelly Grube, director of Information Technology for Penn Highlands Healthcare, said. “He brings to the Information Technology Department a blend of technical and customer service based skills. He is always professional and especially embodies the value of collaboration.”

“Chris has the opportunity to work with staff in many Penn Highlands departments to troubleshoot difficult programming, workflow and reporting needs,” Kelly said. “In his role of integration architect, he often has to design ways to solve difficult problems that affect not only the IT Department but also the health system. His analytical ability and perseverance lead to new solutions.”

“He is detail oriented and his work is always accurate, high quality and delivered on time. His work ethic and teamwork led to his nomination as an Employee of the Month candidate. He is very deserving of the award.”
