Penn Highlands Brookville Speech Pathology provides comprehensive treatment for various types of acquired and developmental communication impairments, and serves inpatients, swing bed, outpatients, home health, infants and pediatric patients.

Our pathologists are skilled in helping you overcome speech disorders, and rehabilitate individuals whose oral motor, swallowing, speech or language skills have been affected by a neurological problem, head/neck cancer or other impairment. We also conduct swallowing studies, including a modified barium swallow.

Penn Highlands DuBois Speech Therapy Inpatient and Outpatient departments work to return function and quality of life to patients through therapies in communication, swallowing and cognition. Our entire team of therapists is certified in Vital Stim, or swallowing therapy, and licensed by the state of Pennsylvania and the American Speech Language Hearing Association, or ASHA.

We provide the latest, highly specialized treatments including Vital Stim (Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation/NMES), modified barium swallow studies and a handful of specialized communication treatments. We provide speech therapies for conditions such as traumatic brain injury, stroke, cognitive and communication disorders, aphasia, autism, anomia, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, ALS, dysphagia, articulation deficits, language disorders, voice disorders developmental delays and feeding issues.

Penn Highlands Elk features a full service rehabilitation center in a state-of-the-art facility staffed by quality therapists who evaluate, develop and guide personalized rehabilitation programs that improve your quality of life. Certified speech therapists provide outpatient speech, language and cognition therapy. They provide early intervention therapy for children ages 0-3 showing symptoms of speech and language difficulties, and work with those who may experience swallowing difficulties, speech and language disabilities, cognitive issues or memory problems.
