Sports Medicine Fellowship

The Penn Highlands Sports Medicine Fellowship Program is a one-year program that annually accepts one new fellow that has recently completed their residency program in emergency medicine, family medicine, internal medicine, pediatrics, or physical medicine and rehabilitation.

Our fellow will work alongside some of the best Sports Medicine doctors that this area has to offer.

This fellowship program offers excellent opportunities for rotations, one-on-one time with attending physicians, time in the sports medicine clinic, on-site sports care, inpatient care, and non-sports ambulatory care.

The Sports Medicine Fellowship Program has received Initial Accreditation from The Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) as of January 26, 2022.

How does the Fellowship Program Work?

The Penn Highlands Sports Medicine Fellowship Program is a one-year program that provides opportunities for future physicians to work with attending physicians on different patients and procedures, perform ultrasounds, work with athletic programs at the high-school, college, and semi-professional level, complete scholarly activity, clinical discussions, rounds, journal clubs, and conferences, etc. The goal of our program is for our fellows to be able to consistently and accurately evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients presenting with primary care sports medicine illnesses and injuries.
